Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Wavertree, Liverpool. You will support pupils with additional needs, including those with ASD, within a supportive year group, working Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30-3:30.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2/3 TA qualifications or have relevant school experience. DBS on update service or willingness to apply is required. There may be opportunities to increase days or secure permanent recruitment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable; those with school experience considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Level 2.
• DBS on update service or willing to apply.
• EYFS/KS1 experience advantageous.
• Experience with SEN pupils, particularly ASD.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs within a KS1 class.
• Build positive relationships to support teaching and learning.
• Adapt to pupils’ varying needs and support inclusive practice.

Salary: £90-110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school located in the Wavertree area of Liverpool. This role will be helping to support a pupils with additional needs in the year group as part of a team. Experience with ASD and challenging behaviour is essential.

This role is working every Thursday and Friday, 8:30-3:30. We will also have opportunities to increase your days and for permananet recruitment for the right candidate.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.
• Experience in EYFS/KS1 would be an advantage
• Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly ASD
