Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Year 1 class in the TS11 area, starting in November 2026.

This full-time role supports children's learning, development and wellbeing, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging activities across Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will help pupils build confidence, reading and maths skills while promoting inclusive learning.

Qualificações

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils in Year 1 or Key Stage 1 would be advantageous.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• A good understanding of primary education and children's learning and development.
• Confidence supporting pupils with phonics, early reading, writing, and mathematics.
• A caring, patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and school staff.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to follow the class teacher's guidance and work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.

Responsabilidades

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities across the Year 1 curriculum.
• Provide general classroom support to help pupils access learning and make progress.
• Support individual pupils and small groups with literacy, numeracy, phonics, and wider curriculum activities.
• Help pupils develop their reading, writing, spelling, and mathematical skills.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Promote positive behaviour and support the consistent implementation of classroom routines.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources.
• Support pupils during classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet pupils' individual learning needs.
• Provide additional support to pupils who may require extra help with their learning or development.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team to support pupil progress.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage effective communication and teamwork.
• Contribute to pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
