Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Horwich from October until the end of the academic year. This full-time role involves delivering engaging Year 1 lessons and fostering a positive classroom environment.

You will plan, prepare and deliver phonics sessions, maintain high standards of teaching and behaviour, and contribute to a collaborative school community. QTS or equivalent is required; Read Write Inc.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
• Confident planning and delivering lessons independently.
• Experience teaching phonics (Read Write Inc. experience is desirable but not essential).
• Committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
• A positive team player who is eager to contribute to school life.

Responsibilities

• Full‑time Year 1 class teacher.
• Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the Year 1 curriculum.
• Delivering high‑quality phonics sessions using the Read Write Inc. programme, or another recognised phonics programme.
• Creating a positive learning environment with high expectations for both achievement and behaviour.
• Implementing strong and consistent behaviour management strategies to ensure pupils thrive.
