Job summary

Supply Desk are working with a welcoming Primary School in Southampton seeking a Year 1 Teacher for September 2026. The role is long-term with potential for permanent placement and involves delivering engaging Year 1 lessons in a nurturing Key Stage 1 setting.

The ideal candidate will have QTS or be an ECT, a strong KS1 curriculum understanding, and excellent classroom management. DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that inspire young learners.
• Commit to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Pay: £170 - £260 per day

Location: Southampton

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Overview

Supply Desk are currently seeking a committed Year 1 Teacher to join a thriving Primary School in the Southampton area on a long-term contract, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum, assessing pupil progress and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can succeed.
