TLTP Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs in a North London primary school. The role is long-term, full-time through an agency, with an ASAP start, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm.

You will provide 1:1 support, help with learning and classroom routines, and collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to support emotional regulation and engagement. This position requires a calm, patient approach, strong communication skills, and a genuine

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs.
• Experience providing 1:1 support.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Resilience and confidence to manage challenging situations.
• Proactive approach and ability to think on your feet.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Responsabilités

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs.
• Support the pupil with their learning and academic development.
• Help the pupil manage their emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of appropriate classroom routines.
• Build a strong, positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Support the pupil to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
• Adapt activities and approaches to meet the pupil's individual needs.
• Provide consistent support throughout the school day.
• Be proactive and responsive to the pupil's emotional and behavioural needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
