Job summary

SIG Roofing is seeking a reliable Yard/ Warehouse Operative to join our branch and help maintain high service, accuracy and safety standards.

You will be involved in receiving, storing, picking and loading stock, ensuring accurate records and a clean, safe workspace while supporting the team to deliver excellent customer service across the branch network.

Qualifications

• A valid Forklift Licence.
• Good data accuracy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard role is advantageous.
• A flexible and adaptable approach with a can‑do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A customer‑oriented mindset and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard.
• Prepare customer orders according to sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe working condition.
• Promote a “Everyone Safe, Every Day,” culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with customers at the collection and returns point.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.

Yard/ Warehouse Operative at SIG Roofing

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Yard/ Warehouse Operative to join our team, helping us maintain our high standards of service, accuracy, and safety.

What does the role involve?

As a Yard/ Warehouse Operative you will be a key part of the day-to-day operations of the branch. Your role will focus on ensuring the receiving, storage, picking, and loading of stock is completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth running of the branch.
