Job summary

Enva in Colwick, near Nottingham, is seeking a Yard Marshall to oversee safe, efficient yard operations and vehicle movements. You will guide HGVs and plant, inspect waste materials, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Ideal candidates have experience in busy yard settings, good health & safety awareness, and strong communication skills to coordinate with drivers and site teams. The role emphasises teamwork, reliability, and proactive problem-solving at Colwick site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy yard, waste management, recycling, logistics, or industrial environment is essential.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, visitors and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely marshal and direct movement of HGVs, plant and other vehicles in the yard.
• Manage traffic flow to minimise congestion and improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct visual inspections of incoming/outgoing waste and recyclables.
• Ensure materials are stored and segregated in designated areas.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across yard and operations.
• Carry out routine yard inspections and report hazards or environmental concerns.
• Assist with loading and unloading activities as required.
• Communicate with drivers, site operatives, and management teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental permits and site procedures.
• Support site safety initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Complete relevant paperwork and operational checks accurately.
• Assist with general operational duties as needed.
