Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a proactive Yards person to support our civils reactive contract. This hands-on role keeps the yard clean, safe, and well-run while coordinating plant, stock, procurement, and vehicle maintenance.

You will track and inspect plant equipment, arrange hires, manage stock levels, assist with purchasing, perform basic repairs where possible, and ensure records are accurate and up to date. Full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, construction or civils environment is desirable
• Basic IT skills and confidence using systems to manage stock and records
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Proactive, reliable and positive “can-do” attitude
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
• Full UK driving licence is essential

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, efficiently run yard and manage plant, stock and procurement activities
• Ensure plant equipment is tracked, inspected and ready for use
• Coordinate hires and manage stock levels; support purchasing of materials
• Carry out basic repairs where possible and organise vehicle maintenance
• Keep accurate up-to-date records and documentation
• Contribute to a high-performing team and practical, hands-on work
