Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a versatile driver/yard operative to transport materials, manage stock, and support on-site teams across projects. The role includes muck-away activities and a one-in-four call-out rota.

Candidates should hold a full UK driving licence, CPC, and have experience in construction site operations, health and safety practices, and material handling. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a driver, yard operative, general operative or similar construction-related role
• Experience as a 7.5t driver general operative, or similar construction-based role
• Familiarity with construction site operations and material handling
• Good knowledge of civils, construction site activities and material handling
• A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
• The ability to safely load, secure and transport materials and equipment
• Good communication, organisational and time management skills
• A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
• A full UK driving licence
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

Responsibilities

• Transporting materials and equipment to and from sites
• Assisting with muck-away activities
• Maintaining a safe and organised yard environment
• Monitoring stock levels
• Managing plant and equipment
• Supporting operational teams when required
• Participating in the one-in-four call-out rota for emergencies/out-of-hours
