Job summary

Manpower UK in High Wycombe is recruiting a Base Shunter to join a busy operation. You will move vehicles and trailers safely around the yard and coordinate with teams to keep loading, unloading, and dispatch on schedule.

The ideal candidate has shunting or yard experience; an HGV licence is desirable but not required. You will work in a professional transport environment with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a shunting, yard, or transport environment.
• HGV licence desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre vehicles and trailers around the yard and designated areas.
• Ensure vehicles are positioned correctly for loading, unloading, maintenance, and dispatch.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Liaise with transport, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth site operations.
• Maintain a safe and organised yard environment.
• Follow all health & safety and company procedures.
