Job summary

Jewson in Barnstaple is hiring a Yard Sales Supervisor to lead the yard and support the branch team. The role runs Monday to Friday 7.00am–4.30pm, with alternating Saturdays 8.00am–12.00pm, focusing on customer service and stock management.

You’ll help plan deliveries, guide customers on products, and assist management with daily operations while ensuring safety and efficiency in a busy merchant environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and understand their project needs.
• Familiarise with product lines to provide guidance and advice.
• Ensure daily setup of the team, including delivery drivers' routes.
• Assist with processing and preparing customer orders; load/unload with forklift (training provided).
• Support management and act as a keyholder when needed.
• Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products.
• Maintain stock levels in warehouse and yard with regular counts.
• Keep branch clean and prioritise Health & Safety.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify improvement opportunities.
