Job summary

Travis Perkins Trading Company Limited in the UK is seeking a Yard Assistant to support our busy yard operations. You will process customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and help unload supplier deliveries while keeping the branch warehouse tidy and safe.

No evenings or weekends; training is provided for forklift operation and safety is our priority. You will need good interpersonal skills and a positive, energetic approach to working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift is ideal but training is provided.
• Ability to handle heavy and bulky stock safely.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Based outside, process customer orders and load/unload vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book them into the branch warehouse.
• Assist with safety and housekeeping to maintain a tidy, safe yard.

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

This is a key customer facing role, so you will need to be enthusiastic and have great interpersonal skills. Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines. Thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, be adaptable and resilient.
