Job summary

Travis Perkins is seeking a Yard Assistant to support daily yard operations at our branch. You will work outdoors, processing customer orders and helping load and unload vehicles, while ensuring accurate stock handling and a clean, safe workspace.

You’ll be part of a team that prioritises friendly, helpful service to customers and adheres to health and safety guidelines. Training is provided, and a range of benefits supports your development and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at the yard and help with loading/unloading vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book them in the branch warehouse.
• Operate forklift (training provided) and maintain a tidy, safe workspace.
• Engage with customers with friendly, helpful service.
• Handle heavy and bulky stock within health and safety guidelines.

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

Do you have what it takes?

• This is a key customer facing role, so you will need to be enthusiastic and have great interpersonal skills.
• Be confident in your physical ability to process heavy and bulky stock throughout the Yard, within our health and safety guidelines.
• Thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, be adaptable and resilient.
