Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a proactive Yards person to support its civils reactive contract. You will maintain a clean, safe yard, manage plant, stock and procurement, and coordinate hires across a busy team.

The role requires basic IT skills, strong organisational abilities, and a full UK driving licence. You will work as part of a supportive team, with opportunities to contribute to efficiency and safety in operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, construction, or civils environment is desirable but not essential.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using systems to manage stock and records.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Proactive, reliable, and positive 'can-do' attitude.
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently run yard.
• Manage plant, stock and procurement activities.
• Track, inspect, and prepare plant equipment for use.
• Coordinate hires and manage stock levels.
• Support purchasing of materials and basic repairs where possible.
• Organise vehicle maintenance and ensure records are up to date.
