Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a proactive Ganger to lead a small civils team delivering essential drainage work across Sussex. You will supervise daily site activities, carry out excavations, manhole rebuilds, repairs and installations, and ensure tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.

The role involves daily risk assessments, coordinating site operations, managing plant and materials requests, keeping accurate records, and ensuring vehicles and equipment are used safely.

Qualifications

• Groundworks or utilities experience in civils environment
• Familiarity with industry tools, plant and machinery
• Understanding of health & safety and safe site practices

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily risk assessments and coordinate site operations
• Oversee plant and materials requests and ensure proper usage of vehicles and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of works and inspections
• Lead a small team with hands-on supervision on excavations, manhole rebuilds, repairs and installations
• Ensure safety standards and high-quality workmanship on site
