GRS is seeking a self-motivated yard operative to work on-site in Harefield, supporting the bagging of aggregates and operating mobile plant. The role demands a can-do attitude, the ability to learn from losses and contribute to a fast-paced team in a busy site.

The position is permanent and full-time, with on-site parking, pension and the chance to grow within a company leading in sustainable construction materials.

Competenze

• Knowledge of Health and Safety (preferable).
• Training will be given but experience in the above areas will be an advantage.

Mansioni

• Ensure safe, compliant & efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and report issues.
• Work as part of a high performing team to produce bagged aggregates.
• Operate forklift truck as required.
• Complete fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
• Bag aggregates to target levels with training provided.
• Assist with loading (net and sheet lorries) when required.
• General housekeeping and communication with drivers and yard operatives.
• Promote a safe, legal workplace with HR compliance.

JOB PURPOSE

A yard operative needs to be willing of driving mobile plant and learning the use of the bagging machines on site. They need to be able to work in all weather conditions and work within a highly motivated team with good communication being fundamental within the role. Manual work is required on a daily basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to:

• Ensure safe, Compliant & Efficient production of bagged aggregates.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety at all times, reporting any issues, accidents and near miss to line manager.
• Work as part of a team high performing team to produce bagged aggregates for our customers with focus on quality and production key.
• Operate a Forklift truck, depending on site requirement.
• Completion of fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
• Bag aggregates in a plastic and bulk bag to the required target levels with relevant training given.
• Net and sheet lorries as and when requested by line manager.
• General housekeeping duties as and when requested by line manager.
• Good communication with all drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

• Good knowledge of Health and Safety (Preferable).
• Training will be given but experience in the above areas will be an advantage.
