Job summary

People Solutions is looking for a Labourer / Yard Operative to join a busy builders' merchant yard in Bothwell. The role involves loading/unloading, stock movement, and assisting with deliveries, with a typical 5-day Monday–Friday pattern and a start as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate will have prior yard or labouring experience, be able to work outdoors in varying weather, and maintain a strong work ethic while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous yard, labouring or similar hands-on experience in a builders' merchant or timber yard.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physically capable of demanding, manual labour.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading building materials
• Moving and organising stock throughout the yard
• Picking and preparing customer orders
• Handling timber and other building materials
• Carrying out general labouring and yard duties
• Assisting with incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and organised
• Carrying out manual handling duties throughout the shift
• Working safely around vehicles, machinery and other yard operatives
• Supporting the wider yard team as required
