Job summary

The Best Connection Reading is currently recruiting a Yard Operative to join a reputable builders' merchant in Caversham. This temporary-to-permanent role offers weekday hours and a clear path to permanent employment.

Pay rate is £13.34 per hour, working 7:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. You will work outdoors, assist customers, receive deliveries, check stock, and help keep the yard safe and organised.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions to support daily yard operations.
• Provide high level customer service by assisting with queries and orders.
• Receive deliveries and log all incoming goods accurately.
• Support stock checks and ensure inventory is correctly recorded.
• Check goods for accuracy and quality before loading.
• Safely load and unload materials following proper procedures.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and well-organised.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations for a safe site.
