Job summary

Bristol Waste Company is seeking a Yard Operative to load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials in line with company procedures and legal requirements. The role requires operating a baler and sorter, and a counterbalance forklift with training provided.

You will maintain site cleanliness, perform daily vehicle checks and comply with safety guidelines. The role may include working bank holidays and Saturdays, with development opportunities and employee benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and prioritise workload and work independently or in a team.
• Proficient communication in a range of situations; willing to undertake training.
• Willingness to work bank holidays and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate vehicles and equipment in line with safety procedures and training.
• Run the sort-line and baler; load/unload recycling and waste in line with policy.
• Operate counterbalance forklift and other related machinery; training provided.
• Maintain site, vehicle and equipment cleanliness; complete required paperwork and report incidents.
• Support safe and compliant site operations.
