Job summary

Bristol Waste Company in Avonmouth is seeking a Yard Operative/Baler/FLT for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role involves loading, transporting and unloading waste and recycling, with a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm).

The candidate will operate the baler, sort-line, and a counterbalance forklift, with training provided for rotator attachments. Benefits include pension, health plans, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence valid in the UK and a Forklift (Counterbalance) licence.
• Experience or ability to organise and prioritise work, solo and in a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively and use a computer, or willingness to train.
• Willingness to work lifting of boxes/recyclables and on bank holidays/Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate vehicles and equipment per company safety and training.
• Operate the sort-line and baler, minimise downtime, load/unload recyclables and waste.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift (rotator attachment training provided).
• Operate other machines (balers, plant) with training provided.
• Maintain site, vehicle and equipment cleanliness; complete required paperwork and incident monitoring.
