Job summary

JP Corry is recruiting a Yard Operative for our Castlereagh site. The role involves serving customers, preparing orders for collection and delivery, and maintaining stock levels.

You will load and unload vehicles, operate a forklift (training provided), check goods inwards, and ensure safe storage in a timber and building materials environment. We offer a competitive salary, staff discounts, life assurance and 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays).

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience operating a forklift truck.
• Experience driving 3.5t vans.
• Understanding of timber and building products.
• Methodical with ability to prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers face to face and delivering high levels of service.
• Preparing orders for collection and delivery; ensuring sales documentation is complete.
• Maintaining stock levels.
• Loading/unloading vehicles manually and with a forklift (training provided).
• Checking goods inwards and storing in correct locations.
• Upholding Health and Safety standards; wearing PPE.
• Carrying out other duties to meet business objectives.

JP Corry’s friendly and professional staff are committed to providing the highest levels of customer service by offering expert, tailored advice to each and every customer. We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join the team at our site in Castlereagh.

Hours – 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 15:30 Friday and every other Saturday morning 08:00-12:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving customers face to face, providing the highest possible service and care.
• Preparing orders for collection & delivery and ensuring sales documentation is completed.
• Maintaining stock levels.
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift truck (training provided).
• Make sure all goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location.
• Be responsible for personal and workplace health and safety and observe regulations in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act. (PPE provided).
• Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to ensure business objectives are met.
