Job summary

The Best Connection in Epsom is recruiting a Yard Operative for a 12-week temporary to permanent role based in Epsom. You will support the day‑to‑day running of the yard and assist drivers, ensuring safe, efficient handling of waste and recyclables.

Two shift patterns are available: Monday to Friday at 7:00am with 4–6 hours per day, or a 3‑day‑per‑week rota with 7:00am starts and 10–12 hours per day. Pay is £13.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day running of the yard.
• Direct and assist drivers and vehicles entering and leaving the site.
• Sort, segregate and manage different types of waste and recyclable materials.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and organised at all times.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Identify and report any hazards, damaged equipment or unsafe working conditions.
• Assist machine and plant operators where required, subject to training and authorisation.
• Support colleagues to ensure the site operates efficiently.

Working Hours

We offer two flexible shift patterns to suit your availability:

Option 1 - Monday to Friday

• Start time: 7:00am

Option 2 - 3 Days per Week (Rota Basis)

• Start time: 7:00am
• 10-12 hours per day

Pay:

£13.00ph

Key Responsibilities of the Yard Operative:
