Job summary

RGB Building Supplies (Barnstaple) is seeking a hardworking HGV driver to join our busy team. This hands-on, customer-facing role involves outdoor work, handling building materials, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers in Barnstaple.

You will deliver materials safely, perform vehicle checks, and ensure compliance with road, health and safety regulations. A Class 2 licence is required; HIAB licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• HIAB licence preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience driving HGV vehicles and delivering goods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials to customer sites safely and professionally.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintenance logging.
• Ensure compliance with road, safety and company procedures.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain vehicle records.
• Assist with loading/unloading as required.
• Represent RGB Building Supplies professionally on the road.

We're looking for a hardworking and reliable HGV Driver to join our busy Barnstaple branch.

This is a hands‑on, customer-facing role involving outdoor work, building materials handling, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers.

What You'll Be Doing

As one of the faces of our Barnstaple Branch, you'll play an important role in ensuring our customers receive their orders safely, efficiently and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering building materials safely and professionally to customer sites.


• Carrying out daily pre-use and post-use vehicle checks.


• Ensuring compliance with road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.


• Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate vehicle records.


• Supporting with the loading and unloading of vehicles where required.


• Representing RGB professionally while out on the road.

What We're Looking For

You'll be someone who takes pride in your work and enjoys working as part of a team. We're looking for:

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.


• A HIAB licence (preferred, but not essential).


• Previous experience driving HGV vehicles and delivering goods.


• A strong commitment to safe and responsible driving.


• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.


• A positive, customer-focused approach.


• A reliable team player with excellent communication skills.

Working Hours

Week 1

• Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm

Week 2

• Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm


• Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
