Job summary

Cameron Clarke Associates t/a talent-finder seeks a Yard, Fleet & Stores Manager in Watford to oversee tools, PPE, stock, fleet, and site deliveries. The role is hands-on and office/yard-based, with travel to sites as required.

You will manage records, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure efficient yard operations while maintaining safety and organisation across the team. A practical, proactive individual is preferred for this varied position.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, plant yard, stores, trade or builders' merchants.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Good problem-solving ability and practical approach.
• Ability to use initiative and take ownership.
• Good communication skills with suppliers, operatives and colleagues.
• Organised with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable with both administrative and practical duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage and issue tools, plant, PPE and stock.
• Maintain tools, schedule PAT testing, servicing and repairs.
• Update computer records and spreadsheets.
• Enter information and set audit target dates in spreadsheets.
• Manage fleet of cars and vans, arrange servicing and replacements.
• Order and control stock and materials for sites.
• Arrange hired tools and plant delivery to sites.
• Coordinate materials and supplies to site.
• Liaise with suppliers and builders' merchants.
• Maintain yard and stores and keep them tidy and organised.
• Deliver and collect tools and equipment to sites across London and Home Counties.
• Operate company vans and 3.5t vehicles as required.
• Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed.
• Support the wider operational team with day-to-day requirements.
