PDI Engineer / Generator Service & Maintenance Technician – Bristol
Location: Bristol | Hours: Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced PDI Engineer to join a busy generator service and maintenance team in Bristol. This role offers hands‑on work with hire fleet generators and customer equipment, including fault‑finding, breakdown repairs, and on‑site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair hire fleet generators and ancillary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair generator faults, both in‑depot and on customer sites.
- Assist with synchronising generators for set‑to‑set and set‑to‑mains applications.
- Deliver, collect, load, and offload generators and equipment safely.
- Operate forklifts in the yard and maintain a tidy workshop environment.
- Assist customers with on‑site equipment setup, including running cables.
- Conduct site surveys and provide technical support for special projects.
- Participate in a 1‑in‑4 on‑call rota.
- Maintain health & safety compliance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong generator knowledge with proven fault‑finding abilities.
- Mechanical or electrical background essential.
- Full UK driving licence (towing categories preferred).
- Forklift licence desirable (training can be provided).
- Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CSCS/ECS card preferred (training can be provided).
