Job summary

Travis Perkins is seeking a Yard Assistant to support daily yard operations. You will be based on site, handling customer orders, loading and unloading vehicles, and accurately logging stock in the branch warehouse.

Experience with forklifts is ideal, but full training is provided. The role emphasises safety, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, organized outdoor environment. Training schemes and career progression are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role requiring enthusiasm and strong communication.
• Able to handle heavy and bulky stock safely within health and safety guidelines.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders outdoors and assist with loading/unloading vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and record them in the branch warehouse.
• Assist in moving stock using forklifts or manual handling as trained.
• Maintain a tidy, safe yard and follow health and safety rules.
