Job summary

Travis Perkins Trading Company Limited is seeking a Yard Assistant to support our external yard operations. You will process customer orders, load and unload vehicles, and ensure accurate stock reporting in the branch warehouse.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a friendly, hands-on approach with customers. Forklift experience is helpful, though full training is provided; you should be physically able to handle heavy and bulky stock in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklift is desirable; training provided.
• Able to work outdoors in yard conditions.
• Physically capable of handling heavy stock and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and assist in loading/unloading vehicles.
• Unload building products from supplier deliveries and book into the warehouse.
• Maintain a tidy, safe working environment in the yard.
• Provide friendly, helpful service and build rapport with customers.
• Operate in a dynamic, fast-paced outdoor setting while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Be adaptable and resilient in daily yard tasks.
