Job summary

Bristol Waste Company is seeking a Yard Operative to load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials in line with company procedures and legal requirements.

You will operate the sort-line, baler and forklift, keeping downtime to a minimum, while ensuring cleanliness and accurate paperwork. Training will be provided where needed; the role supports Bristol's sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and a counterbalance forklift licence.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work, work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and basic computer skills.
• Able to work shifts including bank holidays and some Saturdays.
• Physically able to lift boxes and recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Loading, transporting and unloading waste and recycling materials according to procedures.
• Driving and operating vehicles and equipment with valid licences and training.
• Operating the sort-line and baler, loading and unloading materials with safety in mind.
• Operating a counterbalance forklift (rotator attachment training provided).
• Maintain site and equipment cleanliness and complete required paperwork.
