Job summary

Bristol Waste Company in Avonmouth, Bristol, is seeking a hands-on site-based role as the first point of contact for the public, delivering clear advice and directing waste flows. You will ensure waste is received and deposited correctly and support daily site operations.

The role requires experience in communicating with colleagues and customers, ability to operate a weighbridge (training provided), and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with a wide range of colleagues and customers with good communication.
• Proven ability to contribute to a team and work under supervision when needed.
• Ability to operate a computerised weighbridge (training provided).
• Strong understanding of health and safety and related legislation.
• Physically capable of handling weights up to 25 kg and manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Control receipt and segregation of Black Bag waste from commercial and public.
• Direct and control loading and transfer of waste, recyclables and reusable materials.
• Carry out site housekeeping and facilities maintenance.
• If trained, operate 360 grab and other mobile plant, inspect and report defects.
• Operate weighbridge when required.
• Participate in recycling and reuse initiatives.
