Job summary

Bradfords Building Supplies in Willand is recruiting a Yard Assistant to join our branch. You’ll be the friendly face in the yard, helping customers, picking and loading orders, unloading deliveries, and keeping stock tidy and safe.

This outdoor, hands-on role offers training and development, a discretionary bonus, and a supportive team environment as we deliver excellent service and solutions to customers across the South West.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant, or customer-facing environment would be beneficial, but attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
• A positive, can-do attitude and enjoyment of working outdoors are essential.
• Health and safety awareness and the ability to work under pressure to deliver great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support customers in the yard, assisting with loading and unloading, and loading orders accurately.
• Unload supplier deliveries and maintain stock levels.
• Help keep the branch operating safely and efficiently and spot sales opportunities to build customer relationships.

We’re looking for a Yard Assistant to join our Willand branch and play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and first-class customer experience.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role where no two days are the same. As an important member of the branch team, you’ll be the friendly face of the business—supporting customers in the yard, accurately picking and loading orders, unloading supplier deliveries, maintaining stock, and helping keep the branch operating safely and efficiently. You’ll also have the opportunity to spot sales opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and support the wider team in driving branch success.

We’re looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, works well under pressure, and always puts health and safety first. Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant, or customer-facing environment would be beneficial, but attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
