Job summary

Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd is looking for a Yard Assistant / Relief LGV Driver to join our Newton Abbot team. The role blends in-branch yard duties with occasional multi-drop LGV deliveries, delivering great service to customers.

You will be helping keep the branch running smoothly, handling orders, and stepping in as a driver when needed. A strong customer-service mindset and a valid Class C licence with DQC are essential.

Qualifications

• Full Class C UK driving licence and valid DQC for driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Support customers in the yard, pick and prepare orders, and keep the area safe and organised.
• Load and unload vehicles, receive stock, and maintain a tidy working environment.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries as a Relief LGV Driver, ensuring on-time, safe delivery of goods.
• Provide excellent customer service at the branch and during deliveries.

We’re now looking for a Yard Assistant / Relief LGV Driver to join our team in Newton Abbot. You'll be someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role both in the yard and out on the road.

This is a busy and varied position where you’ll help keep the branch running smoothly. In the yard, you’ll look after customers and ensure they receive a fast, friendly service. When needed, you’ll also step in as an LGV Driver, delivering goods and representing Bradfords on the road.

• Supporting customers in the yard, picking and preparing orders, and keeping everything safe and organised
• Loading and unloading vehicles, receiving stock, and helping maintain a tidy working environment
• Completing multi-drop deliveries as a Relief LGV Driver, ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time
• Providing excellent customer service at every stage, both in the branch and out on deliveries
