Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd in Taunton is seeking a Yard Assistant to join our branch team and deliver a safe, efficient customer experience in an outdoor environment.

You’ll help customers in the yard, pick and load orders, unload deliveries, maintain stock, and support the branch to operate safely and efficiently. A can-do attitude and willingness to learn are as important as experience in yard or warehouse roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant, or customer-facing environment would be beneficial.
• Attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as prior experience.
• Comfort working outdoors in a hands-on role with safety as a priority.

• Support customers in the yard and assist with loading orders accurately.
• Unload supplier deliveries and maintain stock levels.

We’re looking for a Yard Assistant to join our Taunton branch and play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and first-class customer experience.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role where no two days are the same. As an important member of the branch team, you’ll be the friendly face of the business—supporting customers in the yard, accurately picking and loading orders, unloading supplier deliveries, maintaining stock, and helping keep the branch operating safely and efficiently. You’ll also have the opportunity to spot sales opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and support the wider team in driving branch success.

We’re looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, works well under pressure, and always puts health and safety first. Experience in a yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant, or customer-facing environment would be beneficial, but attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
