Job summary

Stanwick Primary School is seeking a dedicated Wrap Around Care Assistant to help organise daily care and play for pupils after school. You will contribute to developing social, physical, intellectual, and emotional growth through engaging activities within a safe, inclusive setting.

The role involves planning activities, communicating with parents, and ensuring smooth setup and cleanup of sessions, with a focus on child welfare and positive behaviour support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Ability to facilitate activities to engage pupils and support development.
• Ability to use initiative and take action accordingly.
• Strong communication with adults and children.
• Ability to handle behaviour issues in line with school policies.

Job description

The Role:

The Wrap Around Care Assistant will assist in the day-to-day organisation of the Wrap Around Care provision, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children at Stanwick Primary School.

Key Tasks:

• Maintain a safe, secure and stimulating play environment, and to assist with developing opportunities which encourage children's social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play.
• Assist with the planning, preparing and delivery of activities, which meet children's individual developmental needs.
• Ensure that wrap around care offers a high quality, inclusive environment which meets the needs of all children, regardless of social, culture, religion or beliefs.
• To communicate effectively with parents on a regular basis and report any information from parents as required
• Help set up and clear away all equipment/activities before and after all after school club sessions.

About You:

You will need experience in:

• Working with children or young people
• Facilitating activities to engage pupils and support development
• Ability to use your own initiative and take action accordingly
• Effective communication with adults and children
• Ability to take a firm but fair approach to handling behaviour issues in line with the school's policies
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues
