Job summary

Dean Gibson RC School in Kendal is seeking a passionate Wrap Around Care Play Assistant to supervise and engage with children aged 3 to 11 in our After-School Club and Breakfast Club.

You will lead creative indoor and outdoor activities, prepare snacks, and communicate with families to share feedback on their child’s time in the setting.

This permanent, part‑time role is paid pro rata at £25,989 per year (FTE) or £13.47 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a play or care setting.
• Childcare qualification Level 2 or Level 3 (working towards).
• Ability to supervise and engage children in a safe and enjoyable manner.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with families about their child’s welfare and activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children at After-School Club Mon-Thu 3:15pm–6:00pm and Fri 3:15pm–5:00pm (12h45m).
• Supervise Breakfast Club 7:45am–9:00am on Fridays (1h15m).
• Engage children through creative indoor and outdoor play activities.
• Prepare and distribute snacks and drinks during sessions.
• Communicate with families to provide feedback on their child’s time.

Dean Gibson RC School is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Play Assistant to supervise and engage with children in our After-School Club, catering for ages 3 to 11 years. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a vibrant team dedicated to creating a joyful, safe, and stimulating environment for children beyond the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children attending the After-School Club Monday to Thursday from 3:15pm to 6pm and Friday from 3:15pm to 5pm (12hours 45mins)
• Supervise children attending Breakfast Club 7.45am-9am on a Friday (1 hour 15 mins)
• Engage with children through creative indoor and outdoor play activities
• Prepare and distribute snacks and drinks to children during the session
• Communicate effectively with families to provide feedback on their child’s time in the setting

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working with children in a play or care setting
• Childcare qualification Level 2 or Level 3 (working towards)
• Ability to supervise and engage children in a safe and enjoyable manner
• Strong communication skills to liaise with families about their child’s welfare and activities

• Grade PCD5, SCP 6
