Job description

Workshop Welder Fabricator

Location: Ilkley / Skipton / Otley / Keighley

Contract: 6-month contract - (Ltd or Umbrella / PAYE) Outside IR35

Shifts & Gross Rates:

  1. Earlies fixed: 6am - 2:15pm - £22.00-£24.00p/h DOE
  2. Afters fixed: 2.15pm - 12.30am (4 shifts) Mon-Thurs - £24.00-£26.00p/h DOE

All 37.5hr std. week - Plus OT x1.5

Client Overview:

I am recruiting for a highly reputable UK engineering manufacturing company based out of West Yorkshire, located close to Ilkley. They design, manufacture, install and commission industrial process machinery to the food, FMCG and other industrial process industries.

Due to a high demand of project work, they are looking for skilled Welder Fabricators to support the workload, working in their modern workshop and operating as a key member of their team and positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Read and work from technical fabrication drawings
  2. Work on varied sized items small, medium & some large steel items and fabrications
  3. Weld on all supporting steel structures and sheet metal fabrications
  4. Ensure all parts are correct and inspected as per bill of materials
  5. Perform MIG welding to a high standard as per company processes and procedures
  6. Work to safety critical structural standards
  7. Ensure work performed meets production timescales

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Ideally formal qualification as a fabricator/Welder (not essential)
  2. Experience working as a skilled Welder and able to read engineering drawings
  3. Understanding of welding symbols and processes
  4. Experienced in light, medium and some large structural fabrication
  5. Experience in ISO 9606 structural codes (preferable)
  6. Overhead crane operating (preferable)
  7. Professional and approachable
  8. Team player, attention to detail
  9. Own tools and welding equipment / PPE required
