Come and join us as a Fabricator Welder at our Kingsbury site in Tamworth!

Wienerberger is a leading international provider of building materials and infrastructure solutions.

About The Role

As a Fabricator Welder, you will be part of the inhouse team who keep the plant running and the equipment running smoothly.

We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to work safely.

Duties Include

• Work with the Maintenance Manager and Production team to ensure the dryer car fleet and kiln car fleet are maintained
• Maintain the metal support structure of the kiln car and dryer car fleet
• Remove corroded metal parts using the appropriate power tools
• Welding / repairs using appropriate equipment
• Define materials / consumable requirements list for the work plan
• Aid the production team in removing /replacing the refractory supports in kiln cars
• Assist the maintenance department as required
• Participate in the PIP process and support the 5Ss and visual management techniques
• Carry out modifications to the equipment as and when required to improve safety
• Repair / install guarding as to the work plan and standards
• Participate in the PIP process and support the 5Ss and visual management techniques
• Ensure Production and Maintenance staff are aware of work being carried out; appropriate isolation, barriers etc are used
• Report back on completed jobs or difficulties encountered
  
  

Hours of Work: 7.00am 4.00pm, Monday to Friday

About You

You will be an experienced fabricator/welder with experience of working in a manufacturing factory environment

Safety is our biggest priority, so youll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice

Youll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently

As this role is sometimes physically demanding, youll be fit enough to perform your various duties

You Will Also Have/be

You will also have/be:

• Be proficient in measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers gauges, bore gauges, metric & imperial measurements
• Have bench work experience
• Have a good understanding and abilityto work from engineering drawings
• Be able to work with a flexible and lateral thinking approach to problem solving
• Have experience in MIG and oxyacetylene
• Have experience in use of handheld power tools - Angle grinder etc
• Have experience in operating surface grinders, band saw and pillar
• Have bench work experience
• Have a good understanding and abilityto work from engineering drawings
