Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group is seeking a pragmatic Workshop Operative to join our busy workshop and service team near Norwich. You will maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment, prioritising safety, quality and efficient operation of our hire fleet.

The role includes basic MIG welding, spray painting when needed, and lifting equipment inspections under LOLER. You will work with forklifts and cranes and support the wider team with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Welding experience.
• Forklift experience (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing and set-up of Conquip OEM equipment, primarily non-mechanical plant and machinery.
• Undertake basic MIG welding tasks as required.
• Spray paint equipment when necessary
• Complete computer-based tasks including certification and documentation
• Follow daily work schedules set by your line manager
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
• Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment and sign off in accordance with LOLER regulations
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when liaising with colleagues and site personnel
• Adopt a flexible attitude towards working hours when required
• Support the wider team with additional tasks as needed
