Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking a skilled Workshop Team Leader at Shearbridge Depot to supervise the workshop team and contractors, delivering inspections, servicing, diagnostics and complex repairs to a diverse fleet.

The role requires strong technical skills, team leadership and the ability to work safely under pressure in a busy operational workshop. May involve roadside tasks and flexible duties.

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory or deputy experience.
• City & Guilds/NVQ level 2-3 or equivalent recognised standard.
• ILM Level 3 in Management or willing to work towards.
• IOSH qualification or willing to work towards.
• Class 4,5 & 7 MOT tester or willingness to work towards.
• LGV Class C or C+E licence or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and contractors within the workshop and remotely.
• Inspect, service, diagnose, maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant equipment.
• Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently and to high professional standards.
• Work in a practical, busy workshop environment with occasional roadside/site repairs.
• Adapt to changing service demands and priorities while supporting a team.
