Job summary

SUEZ is seeking a supervisor for our team of HGV Technicians in the UK. The role is focused on allocating work, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and coordinating with transport colleagues to ensure vehicle availability.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and a calm, systematic approach to working under pressure. A Class 1 licence is advantageous, with solid computer skills to support workshop operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory/team leader role is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills bridging workshop and office.
• Calm, methodical approach under pressure; strong problem-solving ability.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with standard software.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Job allocation to the team of technicians
• Conduct Vehicle QC checking and spot checks
• Work with our transport departments on vehicle availability
• Prioritize work to meet demands of the business
• Ensure cost control on parts and external maintenance
• Carry out equipment checks in line with policy
• Manage health and safety, near miss reporting

What will I be doing?

With an eye for detail and a passion for excellence as the supervisor to our team of HGV Technicians you’ll be hardworking with a commitment to the highest standards of vehicle safety.

Day to day you will:

• Be responsible for Job allocation to the team of technicians
• Conduct Vehicle QC checking and spot checks
• Work with our transport departments on vehicle availability
• Prioritize work to meet demands of the business
• Ensure cost control on parts and external maintenance
• Carry out equipment checks in line with policy
• Manage health and safety, near miss reporting

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Previous experience in a supervisory/team leader role is preferred
• A great communicator who can act as the bridge between the workshop and the office
• Your calm nature and methodical approach help you easily work under pressure
• A natural problem solver
• You’ll have great computer skills
• A Class one licence is advantageous
