Job summary

SUEZ in the United Kingdom is seeking a Driver Supervisor to manage pre-shift activities and oversee safe driver rounds. You will handle incident investigations, inspections, and tachograph data reviews to ensure compliance and efficiency.

The role also involves inductions, toolbox talks, and periodic driving assessments. A valid LGV CAT C licence, Driver CPC, and IOSH/First Aid qualifications are required or can be provided via training.

Qualifications

• LGV (CAT C) Licence and Driver CPC Card are essential.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• First Aid and IOSH qualifications are desirable and training can be provided.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drivers pre-shift and at start of shift to ensure safe, prompt rounds.
• Investigate vehicle incidents and road traffic accidents.
• Investigate near misses and hazards.
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and gate checks.
• Download and review tachograph data and infringement reports.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced on time and inspections completed.
• Deliver driver inductions, training and toolbox talks.
• Complete annual driving and pre-employment driving assessments.
• Occasional cover for driver sickness/absence; LGV licence essential.

Job description

What will I be doing?

• Managing the Drivers pre-shift and at the start of the shift to ensure they commence their rounds safely and promptly whilst resolving any issues until normal office hours commence.
• Managing and investigating vehicle / personal incidents and any road traffic accidents.
• Investigating and resolving near miss / hazard reports.
• Weekly vehicle inspections / gate checks.
• Responsible for ensuring the downloading of VU and Drivers' tacho cards and reviewing infringement reports with Drivers.
• Ensuring vehicles are presented for service on time and inspections (inc. LOLER) are completed as per company standards.
• Responsible for driver inductions and training, as well as delivering toolbox talks.
• Complete yearly driving and pre-employment driving assessments.
• Occasional cover for Driver sickness / absence as required (LGV licence is therefore essential).

What are the requirements?

• It is essential to have an LGV (CAT C) Licence and Driver CPC Card.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

• IOSH qualification (training can be provided for the successful candidate).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including basic PC skills - Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
