Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor for Edinburgh to lead a team of workshop and mobile engineers. You will coordinate day-to-day operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include planning workloads, overseeing maintenance and airside responses, and maintaining health and safety, quality and customer service standards. The role may involve on-call duties and deputising for the Operations Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience essential.
• Background in vehicle maintenance, logistics or a similar operational environment.
• LGV/HGV Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification is essential.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and operational compliance.

• Oversee maintenance, repairs and airside responses.

Job description

Workshop Supervisor - Edinburgh (£44,500-£45,000)

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead workshop and airside operations in Edinburgh.

The Role

You’ll supervise a team of workshop and mobile engineers, coordinating day-to-day operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and motivating a team of 5-10 workshop and mobile engineers.
• Planning and allocating workloads to meet productivity and service targets.
• Overseeing maintenance, repairs and airside responses.
• Ensuring high standards of health & safety, quality and customer service.
• Conducting quality checks and supporting team development.
• Managing tooling, equipment and relevant compliance records.
• Supporting performance, attendance and disciplinary processes.
• Deputising for the Operations Manager when required.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, with shifts of 06:00-14:30 or 08:00-16:30.

There is an on-call rota of approximately 1 week in 5, covering 7 days, with two days off the following week.

About You

• Previous supervisory/team leadership experience - essential.
• Background in vehicle maintenance, logistics or a similar operational environment.
• Experience within the vehicle maintenance sector.
• LGV/HGV Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification - essential.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and operational compliance.
