Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager for our client in the east of Scotland. You will lead a workshop team, plan maintenance schedules, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering reliable, well-presented fleet vehicles.

The role focuses on coaching staff, quality checks, and driving operational improvements in a busy depot environment with strong emphasis on PCV operations and fleet availability.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering or automotive discipline.
• Experience supervising or managing a workshop or technical team.
• Strong knowledge of PCV operations and fleet maintenance environments.
• Excellent health, safety and regulatory compliance understanding.
• Excellent organisational skills and decision-making in a fast-moving environment.

What We're Looking For

• Previous engineering experience with strong mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or automotive discipline
• Experience supervising or managing a workshop or technical team
• Good understanding of PCV operations and fleet maintenance environments
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance standards
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to make confident decisions in a fast-moving environment
