Job summary

Nationwide Platforms is seeking a keen and experienced Workshop Service Engineer to join our Leicester depot. You will inspect, repair and maintain powered access machines (booms and scissor lifts) and ensure they are ready for customers.

Training will be provided; candidates with diesel engineering, auto electrics or hydraulics welcome. Mon-Fri, 8:00am–5:30pm, with a competitive salary, life assurance x2, Westfield health plan, 25 days holiday and a pension.

Qualifications

• Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Mature outlook with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
• Understand the importance of excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Location Service Manager in the effective running of the Depot workshop.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at client premises and at depot, ensure safe operation.
• Repair machines at depot or on site to conform with specifications and policy.
• Complete planned maintenance including fleet appearance to corporate standard.
• Handover machines to customers and familiarise them with safe operation.
• Act as ambassador for the company, delivering high standard of customer care.
• Accurately complete all paperwork including engineer’s reports, off hire, PDI and service sheets.
• Update systems on machine status changes (PDI, repair, 6 monthly inspection).
