Job summary

SLB in Aberdeen, United Kingdom is seeking a Workshop/Production Technician to join its global technology team. You will prepare equipment, assemble assemblies, and conduct functional and hydrostatic tests in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, clear communication, and the ability to follow documented procedures. Experience with torque machines and pressure testing is highly desirable, with opportunities for growth and long-term advancement.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with good product and technical understanding.
• Confident and clear communicator.
• Ability to work accurately to documented instructions, drawings, and procedures.
• Good understanding of Quality Management System requirements.
• Experience operating torque machines and/or conducting pressure testing is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for construction into assemblies as described on work orders, drawings, and approved procedures.
• Assemble mechanical equipment in accordance with documented instructions.
• Conduct functional testing of equipment following approved test procedures.
• Operate torque machines for controlled make-up and break-out of assemblies.
• Perform hydrostatic and pressure testing of equipment in line with company procedures.
• Pack equipment securely and safely into specified packaging ready for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area in line with company Health & Safety requirements.
• Identify, report, and help mitigate hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and the RMSpumptools Quality Management System through disciplined and controlled working practices.
• Work safely at all times and promote a strong safety culture.
