LJ Recruitment is seeking an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter for a workshop-based role in Essex. You will service, repair and maintain a wide range of construction plant and heavy machinery, diagnosing faults and carrying out planned maintenance to high standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills, own tools and a full UK driving licence, and be able to work effectively within a busy workshop team on a varied workload.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Workshop Engineer, Plant Mechanic, Plant Engineer or similar.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing construction plant, heavy machinery or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with good hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience using computer diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults, identify suitable repairs and work independently.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to complete accurate service documentation.
• A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure as part of a team.
• Own tools and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Responsabilités

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of construction plant, heavy machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), routine servicing and reactive repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and resolve technical issues.
• Strip, repair and rebuild mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI), equipment safety checks and PAT testing where required.
• Identify additional maintenance requirements and carry out repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate service records, job sheets and repair documentation.
• Ensure all equipment is repaired safely and efficiently to a high standard.
• Work closely with the workshop team to ensure equipment is returned to customers promptly.
