Job summary

Bridgebankltd in Derby seeks an experienced Plant Fitter to join our team. Based in our Derby workshop, you will inspect and repair damaged plant and small tools, and occasionally work on site as needed to maintain equipment.

Core duties include fault finding, maintenance, and reporting on wear and tear; accurate job cards with serial numbers and parts; timely weekly timesheets; and supporting apprenticeship supervision when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience as a fitter in groundworks/civil construction or heavy plant.
• City & Guilds Level 2 certificate in Engineering Fitter or Automotive Mechanic.
• Full clean UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, fault-find, maintain and repair site and workshop plant faults.
• Report on general condition of faulty plant and assess wear and damage.
• Keep accurate job cards with serial numbers, time, parts and consumables.
• Submit weekly timesheets on time.
• Assist with supervision and training of apprentices as needed.

• Any other tasks that might reasonably be requested by the Company.

• Relevant vocational qualification from a registered educational establishment – for example, City & Guilds Level 2 certificate as an Engineering Fitter or Automotive Mechanic.
• Full clean UK Driving Licence.

Responsible for Staff/Equipment:

• All tools and equipment will be provided.
• The Fitter may be required to perform occasional supervision and on-the-job training of apprentices.
