Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Workshop Plant Fitter for a leading plant hire company in the Northeast. Based in the workshop near Newcastle, you will service, repair and maintain heavy plant machinery, with travel to local and nationwide sites.

The role requires a proven workshop fitter background, strong mechanical skills and working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, CAN systems knowledge a plus, and you will

Workshop Plant Fitter (Green Energy)

Newcastle

£50,000 - £60,000 + Training + Progression + Company Vehicle + Overtime

Are you a Workshop Plant Fitter or similar, who wants to work for one of the North East's leading companies in the Plant Hire industry with over 60 years' experience?

Do you want to work in a well-established and tight-knit team providing expert technical support to the engineering team, where you will be provided with the best-in-class training and progression opportunities?

This leading Plant Hire provider supply into the Building Services and Green Energy sector within the northeast. After successful decades, they are looking to expand the team.

In this role you will be based in the workshop in Cramlington, with some travel to local and nationwide sites. You will be tasked with managing and training engineers on the team, Aswell as maintaining, servicing, repairing, and assembling mechanical equipment, plant machinery, or vehicles in a controlled workshop environment.

This role would suit an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter or Technical Engineer with a background in Mechanical and Electrical issues.

The Role:

• Carry out regular service, maintenance, and detailed assessments on heavy plant machinery.
• Recognize and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults competently.
• Travel to sites across the North of England
• Ensure all equipment meets health, safety, and operational compliance standards.

The Person

• Proven experience as a workshop fitter or similar
• Strong mechanical background with working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Must have NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and must have knowledge of CAN systems.
