Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join their Hayes depot in Sidcup. You will service, maintain, repair and inspect a wide range of heavy plant and construction equipment in a modern workshop environment.

The successful candidate will benefit from ongoing manufacturer training, clear career progression and a supportive team, with a basic salary of £40,000–£45,000 and real prospects for long‑term employment.

Qualifications

• Experience on heavy plant, construction or agricultural machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnose and fault-find mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Carry out routine inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
• Complete service reports and job documentation.
• Work safely and in line with company procedures.

NEOS Engineering are working exclusively with a well-established and highly respected plant hire business who are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join their busy Hayes depot.

The Role

As a Workshop Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair and inspection of a wide range of heavy plant and construction equipment. Working within a modern workshop, you'll ensure machinery is maintained to the highest standards, helping keep customers operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnose and fault-find mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Carry out routine inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
• Accurately complete service reports and job documentation.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.

The Candidate

• Experience working on heavy plant, construction or agricultural machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
