Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group designs, manufactures and supplies innovative equipment solutions to the construction and engineering sectors. As a Workshop Operative, you will work in a busy workshop to maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment, ensuring safety, quality and operational standards are upheld.

The role includes basic MIG welding, forklift operation (training provided) and following daily schedules.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a Workshop Operative, you will work within a busy workshop environment to maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment efficiently. You will be instrumental in upholding safety, quality and operational standards across our hire fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing and set-up of Conquip OEM equipment, primarily non-mechanical plant and machinery
• Undertake basic MIG welding tasks as required
• Spray paint equipment when necessary
• Complete computer-based tasks including certification and documentation
• Follow daily work schedules set by your line manager
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
• Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment and sign off in accordance with LOLER regulations
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when liaising with colleagues and site personnel
• Adopt a flexible attitude towards working hours when required
• Support the wider team with additional tasks as needed
