Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group is seeking a Workshop Operative in Norfolk to maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment within a busy workshop. You will help uphold safety, quality and efficiency across the hire fleet.

The role requires welding and forklift duties, with training provided for the forklift. Candidates should demonstrate teamwork, good planning and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required.
• Forklift operation experience; training can be provided.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration.
• Good planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing and setup of Conquip OEM equipment.
• Undertake basic MIG welding tasks as required.
• Spray paint equipment when necessary.
• Complete computer-based tasks including certification and documentation.
• Follow daily work schedules set by line manager.
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
• Conduct inspections of lifting equipment and sign off per LOLER regulations.
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when liaising with colleagues and site personnel.
• Adopt a flexible attitude towards working hours.
• Support the wider team with additional tasks as needed.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a Workshop Operative, you will work within a busy workshop environment to maintain, service and repair Conquip OEM equipment efficiently. You will be instrumental in upholding safety, quality and operational standards across our hire fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing and set-up of Conquip OEM equipment, primarily non-mechanical plant and machinery
• Undertake basic MIG welding tasks as required
• Spray paint equipment when necessary
• Complete computer-based tasks including certification and documentation
• Follow daily work schedules set by your line manager
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently
• Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment and sign off in accordance with LOLER regulations
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when liaising with colleagues and site personnel
• Adopt a flexible attitude towards working hours when required
• Support the wider team with additional tasks as needed
